You’re a world-changer in community

This was the scene at my house on Saturday.   A few of us on Team HeartStories gathered – some of us in person (Taylor drove all the way from Lubbock!), Natalie via live stream, and a few were there in spirit, to invest in an intentional conversation about who we are as a brand, who we seek to serve and how we show up in the world in a way that reaches her.

Saturday “work” meetings are not the norm for us.  In fact, I try hard to avoid working at all on Saturdays, but sometimes it’s the inevitable life of an entrepreneur.  This Saturday meet-up was so well worth the investment.

We decided that if HeartStories was:

  • An animal, we’d be a Labrador Retriever
  • A type of music, we’d be Kelly Clarkson
  • A color, vibrant (fun) red
  • A celebrity, Reese Witherspoon
  • A city, (a mashup between) Santa Monica, Nashville and Sedona
  • A drink, French 75

After all that fun, we dug into our vision, mission and purpose.

Everyone chimed in with ideas on where we’ve been, where we are and where we’re going.  Even though it was almost four hours of intense, focused conversation, it was inspiring and uplifting at every turn.  There were several times I did a full-on victory cheer with two arms in the air.

These ladies helped me simplify a message I often tend to convolute on my own.

We needed the creativity, viewpoint and personality of each person on the team, to make the whole thing work.  The ideas that were generated as each woman had the courage to speak up, were not only incredible, but each built upon the last.  It was a beautiful dance of  vulnerability, leadership, contribution, inclusion, fun and positivity.

Most of all it was a lovely reminder that we are so much better together.

As cliché as it may sound, we just are.  Every woman around the table is a powerhouse on her own, but the strengths of any one of us won’t carry us.  We are meant to live in connection and community.  When we do, beautiful things emerge.   But it only happens in the context of supportive relationships.

Which is not ironic, since it’s the entire foundation of HeartStories.

  • Empowering you to invest in yourself
  • Leaning in to your own inner calling and purpose
  • Replacing the noise with love through connection
  • Igniting the joy you crave

What are you trying to handle solo in your life today?

Get around the table with friends.

Invite them into the conversation, the dance of your life.

You are a powerhouse on your own.

You are a world-changer in community.

to more love,

Crystal

P.S.  This is exactly the kind of community we’re cultivating between friends at our GNO on April 5th!  Join us.
