They say you should never write from your wounds, only your scars. I’m sure they are right.
But some things are more like calluses.
They’re like a little sore spot. If you ignore it, it turns into a callus. It’s not really a wound anymore, but it’s not a healed scar either. (gross example, I know. hang with me for a minute.)
It takes a lot of work to get rid of a callus, but it can be done.
I often write from my sore spots and calluses. I do it because if I’m working on some of those things, there’s probably a chance you are too.
