Yesterday we talked about Glennon Melton being up to something. Today, we know the story.
Here’s a small excerpt from the story of Love being created over at The Compassion Collective.
“We are taking back Mother’s Day.
There is a story the world has told you about Mother’s Day. It goes like this: Mother’s Day is about a certain kind of love. A love that is pink and fluffy and soft and can be bought at the store.
We have a truer, more exciting story to tell you. It goes like this:
Mother’s Day IS about Love.
But it’s not about commercial, comfortable love that snuggles up and stays home—it’s about love that throws open the door and marches out of our homes, beyond our fences and neighborhoods and into the hurting world to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, comfort the hurting, mother the motherless.
Mother’s Day love is dangerous, revolutionary love that unites our one human family and reminds us that we belong to each other and that there is no such thing as other people’s children.”
Today, The Compassion Collective, is celebrating the revolutionary love of Mother’s Day by collecting small donations (max $25) from people, just like you and me, to care for children in need. 100% of the money will be used to care for both, unaccompanied refugee children and homeless American youth. You can read more about it here.
I know you’re the kind of person who agrees that we belong to each other, and that there is no such thing as other people’s children.
In celebration of Mother’s Day this year, please consider making a small donation to the incredible work of The Compassion Collective to honor the mothers who need our help caring for our children.
Click here if you’re ready to show up to honor mothers everywhere.
Then please share.
“Compassion shows up and shows itself so others might be brave to do the same.”
Be brave today. We need you.
When the world is dark, we must be the light.
to more love,
Crystal
