Some days it’s really hard to get out of bed.
This pillow is so soft, the covers are so warm and it’s SO dark.
Maybe it’s because I went to bed too late or didn’t sleep well.
I can tell you that since I committed to waking up early to write every morning, I’ve yet to oversleep my alarm. I’m not saying that won’t happen, but it hasn’t yet.
Of course, I’d have to be up by 7:00 to take care of my family anyway, but I have a compelling reason to be up by 5:30.
It’s this, it’s you.
I slide that alarm every morning and plant my feet on the ground because I value being here, more than I value another hour of sleep. I value the way writing has changed me and the way you tell me it’s changing you. I value the ground swell of women hungering for more in their lives.
Not more money, more prestige, or more stuff. But, more meaning, more purpose and more passion.
More love.
I love cultivating that soil and watching all the pieces come together for you.
Sometimes it’s an all-out wrestling match between the old stories you’ve been believing and the new ones that are trying to emerge.
But it’s happening.
I love hearing the stories of the ache in your heart to make a change in the world and knowing, you’re paying attention. I love what happens when you’re reminded to stay true to who you are, because we need what you have to give.
Most of all, it makes my heart smile to see you find your purpose and decide to go for it, to live the stories of your heart.
That’s why I get up.
What’s your why?
What compels you to get out of bed?
If you’ve really been contemplating your “why”, this is a fantastic 16 minute talk by my friend Shannon Keith. If you’ve ever felt like an issue was too big for you to change, something too big and overwhelming to make a difference, she’ll show you, it’s not. Give it a watch today. It just might be for you.
The sun’s coming up outside my window. It’s going to be a beautiful day.
That’s why I get up.
To more love,
Crystal
