I laughed hard when I saw this meme for so many reasons.
First, this is exactly how Scott and I look when we come down from putting the kids to bed. Like, exactly. Second, it’s Friday and this is often how I feel on Friday mornings when my alarm goes off.
I’ve almost made it through the week.
After five days of homework, deadlines, late bedtimes, early alarm clocks and all the joys and demands of life in between. I’ve run the gauntlet, dodged flaming arrows, defended against impending doom and survived a tsunami. And somehow got my hair done right in the middle of it all. 😉
I know I’m not alone.
Whether you have kids, a career, a spouse, a pet. . . any kind of responsibility at all, we all have those days when we feel like we’re just barely dragging across the finish line. Of course, we don’t look like the picture above to anyone else.
We look like this.
Because this is what’s acceptable to the outside world.
But today, if you’re feeling like that first pic, I want you to know I feel you. I see you. I’m SO totally with you. It’s okay.
It’s totally normal.
Try to get some rest this weekend. But even if you can’t, just know that you’re never alone. Even if it appears that the rest of the world is smiling at you with shiny, clean faces.
Everybody’s got a little weary warrior going on, on the inside.
Look for her.
Connect with her.
She needs you.
to more love,
P.S. You know what goes here. 😉 Bring your weary warrior on out for a retreat at our next GNO. You’ll see the others there.
