Sometimes when you’re having a grown-up dinner and you want to capture a legacy picture of three generations making memories of a lifetime, this is what you get.
This is what you get when you have Oakley as your baby.
This boy doesn’t know what serious means. He’s got a sense of humor that can make me snort at the most inappropriate times. He sneaks into my bed to tickle me when I’m trying to sleep in. He pretends to fall out on the floor and pass out when his brother pretends to let ‘er rip.
He keeps us all in stitches (sometimes, literally).
I can be fightin’ mad, ready to blow a gasket, and he’ll make this face where he turns his eyes up to the side, gives a sly smile, and says “wasn’t me” and I can’t help but laugh. At the very least, it eases the stress and puts things in perspective.
I need him in my life.
He’s a constant reminder to lighten up. In a world full of busy. In a world full of stress. In a world full of pain. . . he brings joy. Don’t get me wrong, he also sometimes brings more busy, stress and pain, but he’s really good at bringing joy.
Who brings you joy?
Maybe today, you can take some extra time to connect with that person. Maybe sometimes you get so busy, you think you don’t have time for joy. You think life is too serious to laugh.
There’s always time for joy, if only you let it in.
Maybe today you just need to let yourself laugh, even if it’s uncomfortable at first. It will be good. It will be worth it.
Promise.
to more love,
Crystal
