Today we close the chapter on our summer vacation adventure and head home. But not before making a fun stop yesterday, at a little artifact shop, with an intriguing lesson on pirate coins. . . and the Louisiana Purchase.
What a trip!
As I was putting the boys to bed last night, Oaks said, “Wow, I can’t believe how fast the time has gone, it feels like we just got here yesterday! Each hour felt like five minutes and each day felt like an hour.” We all giggled and they fell asleep.
But I didn’t.
I stayed up thinking about his words and I was reminded of how this life is like a vapor. Here today, gone tomorrow. It’s not just the magical summer trips that fly by for kids. One day we’ll all look back and think about how each hour felt like five minutes and each day felt like an hour. . . or less.
There will be so much we won’t remember.
If we are lucky, we will remember the highlights and we’ll have some stories to tell. We will remember the people we loved. We’ll remember the moments that mattered.
It’s Wednesday.
When you think about this past week, what do you remember? What do you think your spouse remembers? Your kids? Your friends? Your colleagues?
You only get this day once and then it will disappear like a vapor.
Do something special for someone today.
This moment is all we have.
Make it worth remembering.
to more love,
Crystal
