Early yesterday morning, one of my friends called to check on me. She wouldn’t take “I’m fine” for an answer. She wanted to know how I was really doing.
She got her answer.
But what I got, was to see firsthand, how uplifting it can be to just get it out. Of course, I don’t know how my day would have gone without Elizabeth’s call. But after we hung up, I felt lighter and more free. It was like she just picked me up and held me for a minute so I could see things differently.
Of course, it took time, but only a few minutes.
It made me think about how many opportunities we miss to hold our sisters up. How many times do we take “I’m fine” for an answer instead of getting all up in her grill to really find out? Like the girls in this picture, Elizabeth could see that there was something good up there and if I’d just let her give me a boost, I’d at least be able to check it out.
That kind of lifting is hard work.
It requires trust and balance on the part of both sisters, but the more often we do it, the easier it gets. Sometimes you’re the booster and sometimes you’re the boosted. It mostly depends on the day. . . or the hour. What’s important is that sisters are always boosting each other.
There is so much in life you will miss if you just take the easy path, side by side.
Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Lift a sister up today.
to more love,
Crystal
