Growth colored glasses

process of growth ~ Crystal Gornto - heartstories

We have a group on Facebook for all the ladies who’ve attended one of our GNOs.  This past week I shared a quote there about having patience, because we are all “under construction”.  The comments the ladies shared there were filled with gratitude for the recognition that none of our lives are picture perfect and feeling less alone with others who acknowledge their under construction moments.

The next day I read this:

“For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone.  The shell cracks.  It’s insides come out.  And everything changes.  To someone who doesn’t understand growth, it would look like complete destruction.”

~ Cynthia Occelli

It occurred to me that all too often, even though we do understand growth, we fail to see it.  We see what looks like destruction, in ourselves and others, and we make judgements.  Harsh, mean, life-depleting judgements that make us want to give up, in exactly the moment we need to keep going.

Oh how much our lives would change if we looked at EVERY situation through the lens of growth.

My encouragement to you today is, the next time you feel completely undone, like you’re going to crack, or your insides are about to come out . . .

Remember that’s what growth looks like.

To the rest of the world, it may look like your destruction, but not to you.  You’re an expectant seed, working to achieve your greatest expression.

And so is your sister.

to more love,

Crystal
