They’re coming

female social entrepreneurs
I feel like Paul Revere on his midnight ride.

But, instead of spreading the news that The British are coming!  I’m announcing something so beautiful and bright.

Instead of a rallying cry to prepare for the coming Civil War, it’s a rallying cry to prepare your hearts to be changed.

Instead of battening down the hatches, fling open the doors!

They’re coming!

Starting next week.

One at a time.

The stories of women who choose courage in the face of uncertainty.

The stories of women who choose to Love anyway.

They are the stories of women who have chosen to make a way, through purposeful products that give back to the world in beautiful ways.

We’re calling them The Love Makers.

Because that’s exactly what they do.  They make products that create more love in the lives of those they serve and those of us who choose to take the journey with them, by purchasing with purpose.

They make more love in this world.

They are women who stand in the face of apathy with full hearts and don’t back down.

They are social entrepreneurs.

They’ve decided that it’s worth it to provide living wage employment to those who couldn’t otherwise find a job.  It’s worth it to change their whole world by giving them hope.  By empowering them to provide for themselves.

They’ve decided it’s worth it to work harder and wait longer to become profitable because generously giving back is woven into the fabric of who they are.  It’s worth it to double production and operational costs by giving something away for every product they sell.

They’ve decided it’s worth it to make fashion ethical.  To make doing social good not only stylish, but sustainable.

They’re inspiring and empowering other women to do the same.

They’re giving you simple ways to become part of a bigger story forever changing the way business is done.  They’re forever changing the impact of philanthropy, because they’re changing the way we give.

No longer do you have to be guilted into giving to causes around the world.   Now, you can feel empowered to support a woman whose values align with yours, as she creates sustainable change.

Let’s get behind them.

Rally the troops!

Because what they’re doing is not easy.  In fact, it’s really hard.  And one of the hardest parts is telling their own stories.  These women would prefer to be behind the scenes, making change happen, without any credit or notoriety.

They’d rather work their tails off making their cause the main attraction.

I know this because I’ve been there.

When I first started HeartStories, every single coach and consultant I worked with told me to tell my story. They told me people needed to connect with me and trust me, before they would believe my heart and connect with my mission.

I didn’t listen.

I didn’t want to be in the spotlight.  I didn’t want to distract from making the heartstories of other women the most important thing.  I wanted them to see a company that cared about them and create a community of women to connect with each other.  I was always trying to be in the background, never telling stories about me, just stories of other inspirational people and messages of hope from me.

Everything was signed by The HeartStories Team.

But when I stopped being afraid to speak, when I put my voice, my name, my face and my story out there, everything shifted.

All of a sudden the women I’d been trying to reach started listening.  My messages started reaching them and touching their hearts.   But, it took me realizing that it’s not a choice.  If I want to create change, it’s my responsibility to share my story.  To connect on a human level.  To be vulnerable enough to create trust in the message of my heart.

That’s exactly what these women are doing when they come to share their stories with us.

They’re being really brave.

Let’s show them it matters.  Let’s encourage them to keep going.

Let’s do what we can, right where we are, to change the world for the better.

Are you with me?!?!

To more love,

Crystal

P.S.  As part of my effort to practice what I preach.  I made this quick, 1 minute video to highlight the reason HeartStories is one of my heartstories.

P.S.S.  If you’re reading this and your heart is beating a little faster, your eyes are filling with tears, and you want to do more, but you don’t know how.  Consider applying to be a Love Agent.  You can read about it here.
