More thoughtful this year

I can hardly believe it’s October. It’s already the time of year we begin planning gatherings, large and small, near and far. Before we know it, we’ll be gathering in our circles, engaging in every kind of conversation under the sun. We’ll awkwardly small talk with co-worker’s families. We’ll remember how Grandma always burnt the rolls with laughter. We’ll ring in the new year with joyful anticipation.
It’s easy to get busy with all the excitement and planning of this season.
There are parties to throw, menus to plan, tables to decorate, gifts to buy and cards to send. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and yet somehow, it can easily rush by without much thought or intention going into the experiences we’re creating.
We’re running from one thing to the next, checking all the to-dos off our lists.
