We see the way we want things to be different. We can see a path to get there. We decide that it’s worth it. Yet, when we set out to accomplish it and we’re hit in the face with the reality of the difficulty, it’s often hard to keep going.
For 2016, I set some goals around my health. I reached out to an incredible friend and coach, Angela. She is helping me take BABY steps through a 21 day program to guide me through eating healthy food, working out everyday and staying accountable in a group setting. It’s a proven formula. Easy right?
Hardly.
Yesterday, I woke up excited about this new stage in my life. I planned out my food, did my workout (with much pain and agony), drank plenty of water, and headed out the door. I was feeling confident and energized, but as I was leaving, I noticed that my head was head was hurting. Then as I drove away, it got worse and worse.
What?
That’s not supposed to happen. This is supposed to be a healthy day, not a hurting day. Turns out, that headache took over my entire day, with a vengeance. And of course, I woke up this morning with a kind of soreness I haven’t felt in years!
I can see how I want things to be different. I can see the path to get there. I know it’s absolutely worth it. AND it is SO hard to keep going. . . even on day two . . . with a lingering headache and an aching body.
But I will.
I will because I want it bad enough AND I have a friend who cares enough to help me get there.
Take a look at the things in your life that you want to be different.
Can you see a path?
Is it worth it?
If you can see it, and it’s worth it, find a friend, a coach, or a mentor. Find someone who is willing to walk beside you to cheer you on.
Time and time again, it’s the only way.
Whatever you’re walking through today, whether it’s goals for your marriage, your family, your life or your business. . .
You can’t go this alone.
Reach out to someone who cares enough to walk with you and ask.
It will be worth it.
To more love,
Crystal
