If you’ve turned on your radio or been out in public in the last month, you’ve probably heard Fight Song, by Rachel Platten. It’s a great song about a girl, feeling down and lost, who finally finds the fight that’s left in her. She finds her inspiration to get back up again to face the world. Now she has this fight song to keep her going.
Everyone needs a fight song.
I don’t mean a song that makes you want to put on black leather and flex your muscles. I’m thinking more like a song that reminds you why you do what you do. A story that plays in your mind when you wake up in the morning.
It’s the chorus that crescendos when you step out with trembling hands and wobbly knees, to do the thing you know you’re meant to do.
Around here, our fight song is love.
Everything we do is a focused effort to create more love in the world. We want to help you replace negative stories in your mind with love, because when you do, you’ll find your fight song.
You’ll figure out what makes it worth it to you to get up again to face the world.
But instead of a “take back your life song” we want you to give it away. Not, in a martyr kind of way, in a beautiful, generous, work of art kind of way. Because when your heart and mind are filled with love, you can’t help but share it with others.
When you’re making the music of your soul, the world is going to hear it through the windows.
And we’ll never be the same.
That’s why I write.
That’s why I show up here, to push you. To remind you. To meet you wherever you are.
I want you to find your fight song.
Not only that, I want to see you sing it loud, standing on top of the piano.
No one else has the same fight song you do, not exactly like yours.
It starts as a whisper that you’re meant for something more.
To more love,
