St. Augustine once said, “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” This quote means a lot to me as I go through my years in college. From a young age, I’ve had the desire to see the world’s every corner. Both the highs and lows.
As a 20-something learning about myself and who I want to be in life, travel is a priceless experience that allows me to see the world with new eyes. I have been lucky to have had the opportunity to visit some amazing places around the world, but I’m not done yet – I want to keep reading.
Life is like a book and each chapter means a chance to change, grow, or experience life the way you want to. I am not content with the ordinary, which means my chapters have and hopefully will be filled with the extraordinary.
This quote speaks to me because it reminds me to get up, go out, and live. You don’t have to fly to Europe or stay in the nicest hotels. Sometimes, travel means taking a road trip on a Saturday with your friends. Or visiting the museum in town that you’ve always been meaning to go to. It reminds me to not let my chapters close without truly being written.
One of my goals for 2015 is to keep this at the front of my mind. Be spontaneous. Be outrageous. Write my chapter.
