As I was falling asleep last night, I got a text from my friend Libba. It included this quote:
“The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.”
~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
When I read that quote- my spirit shouted “AMEN!”
Since the beginning of HeartStories, every woman I’ve met. Every story she’s shared. All the success and beauty she’s found and created.
It all came through a journey of defeat, suffering, loss and time in the depths of valley.
They’ve practiced getting back up, time and time again. They’ve wiped the tears, the blood, the sweat and mud off their faces, and faced the world again. It is this journey that makes them.
This is the journey that makes them beautiful.
It’s the path that will make you beautiful too. The path lined with flowers and sunshine looks like the one you want. But it won’t make you the person you want to be.
This path you’re on, the one filled with hardship and struggle will make you beautiful, if you let it. Let it fill you with compassion, gentleness and love.
Only that will make you more beautiful.
to more Love,
Crystal
