HeartStories Summit Press Release

HeartStories Summit Kicks Off in Dallas February 22

Event Brings Together Women and Experts to Bolster Friendship in Today’s Busy World

Frisco, TX – January 24, 2014 – We all know successful women – the CEO, the famous actress, the mom with three kids and a career.  On the outside, her life is a picture perfect Facebook update.  In reality, she faces daily doubts about herself and even with record-breaking friend counts, sometimes she feels alone.  In her fast paced life, she’s missing the supportive, authentic friendships she once enjoyed.  She’s your cousin Jane, your friend Kelly – she’s you.  And do you have time to stay connected to your girlfriends? HeartStories founder Crystal Gornto bets that answer is no. So she created HeartStories, the organization dedicated to radically changing the way women view themselves, their lives, and their closest friendships.

“HeartStories was born out of a realization that I’ve become that busy woman, doubting myself many days, and not prioritizing my relationships with my core group of girlfriends, the ones who remind me of the truth about who I am. I am not alone,” said Gornto. “And now, you don’t have to be either.”

The HeartStories Summit, taking place at Hotel ZaZa in uptown Dallas on Saturday, February 22, is the organization’s inaugural live event – and you’re invited. These experts will walk attendees through an action plan to counter negative thoughts and reconnect to their most vital friendships.

  • Dr. Lisa Firestone of the Glendon Association will walk you step by step through her proven program to counter negative thoughts and live free from limitations.
  • Shasta Nelson of will uncover the reasons why our friends play such a vital role in our health and happiness, as well as providing a clear plan of how to move toward the friendships that matter most.
  • Mendhi Audlin beloved author and radio host will teach us her secret strategy for falling in love with our lives.
  • International Fitness Expert Leisa Hart will take attendees on a self awareness journey designed to help us peel away layers of our lives that may be holding us back from being our very best.

The HeartStories app – designed to support women in carrying on this new way of relating into their daily lives – will launch in a beta version from the event. The Summit culminates in an after-party with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a special live concert by Dallas’ own Catie Waters.

“The HeartStories Summit is sure to be a pivotal event in the lives of women as well as the life of this groundbreaking company,” said Shasta Nelson. “I’m excited to be a part of it and hope to see you there.”

The HeartStories Summit is sponsored by Southwest Airlines, Hotel ZaZa, CultureMap, SkinnyGirl Cocktails, Toni & Guy and Medicine Mama’s Apothecary. Tickets may be purchased by visiting
