You can get there

Today  is our last day of school. . . and I have the battle wounds to show for it!  Our family tradition is to make loads of sweet and spicy pickles to pass out to the teachers, but this year, we missed the mark.  We are coming in hot, blowing out snot (as my boys would say).

But after today, we made it.

I’m not sure we passed all our classes.  I’m certain we didn’t get all our work turned in.  There are unidentified things on my kitchen counter that were removed from lockers and desks.  My house is covered in ziplock backs, care packages, silly string and strange wigs that will be soon sent off to camp.

Not to mention all the glow sticks, lamps and other decor for our 80’s party next week!

S when I saw this shirt on Cafe Press, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.  There are so many times in life we’re just so close.  We can see the finish line ahead and yet, somehow, we just can’t get there.  We need our tribe to pull us across.  This has been one of those weeks for our family.  I literally phoned a friend at 10pm one night and she was standing in my kitchen helping a sister out by 10:30.

She literally dragged me across the finish line.

So girl, if this is you today, I have one thing to say.  Okay, well, maybe two.

  1.  It’s okay to admit you can’t make it on your own.
  2. Phone a friend.

No matter how strong you pride yourself on being, sometimes the end is just one finger-length too far out of reach.  And even more than that, you might be surprised at how good it feels to have a friend take your hand and help you across the line.  Whatever the line is, you’re needing to cross. . .

You can get there.

You just might not be able to get there alone, but that’s exactly what sister friends are for.

So here’s a shout out to all the sisters out there dragging each other across the line!

You’re the bomb.

to more love,

Crystal

P.S.  If you’re ready to celebrate crossing the finish line into the summer, we’ve got the party for you!  Join us next Thursday for our Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, 80’s GNO.
